Dancing on Ice is the latest in a long line of reality TV shows to hit our screens this year, now in its second series this is one of the rare shows that actually does take serious talent and dedication to be able to pull off.
Taking to the ice this year are: Clare Buckfield, Kay Burley, Neil Fox, Stephen Gately, Phil Gayle, Duncan James, Ulrika Jonsson, Lisa Scott-Lee, Lee Sharpe, Emily Symons and Kyran Bracken.
DJ Neil Fox was the first one to leave the show on week one, and despite giving the performance his all, didn’t quite manage to live up to the standards of the other ice skaters. I felt a bit sorry for the poor bloke really though as you could see he was loving taking part and that he really was putting everything into his performance.
Actress Claire Buckfield gave a particularly brilliant performance this week showing that she was not afraid to skate with courage and confidence.
On the second week the competition was just as fierce, and it was the turn of newsreader Phil Gayle to leave, the judges said that he just wasn’t as good as some of the others and that maybe his height was proving to be an issue as it is obviously harder to get the moves and precision right on the ice when you are taller.
Claire Buckfield shone again this week with a great little solo piece at the start of her performance and Duncan James and partner once again got great scores.
Week three has recently seen the loss of Ulrika Jonsson from the competition; I must say that I thought this was a wise decision from the public and judges this week as she really looked uncomfortable on the ice and wasn’t getting her steps correct or in time with the music.
Sky News presenter Kay Burley aka ‘The Ice Queen’ quite literally lost her cool this week when she suffered a nasty bang on the head in rehearsals after being swung too low in a choreographed move. She took to the ice on the night and managed to pull it off live though so she definitely deserves a big pat on the back, she’s clearly got a lot of guts.
I’m interested to see how the show will progress and without doubt the competition is much tougher this time for the celebs than last year.
I would say that Duncan James has a fair chance of winning, based on his popularity with the female public just as much as his skating skills! Claire Buckfield is definitely in the running too.
If they manage to make the final show as entertaining as last year with all the wire work etc it will definitely be a show not to be missed!

I AM LOVING THIS SERIES OF DANCING ON ICE. I THINK THE SUPPORT FOR THE CELEBRITIES BY THEIR PROFESSIONAL PARTNERS IS FANTASTIC. GREAT ENTERTAINMENT ALL ROUND. I THINK IT’S IMPOSSIBLE TO PREDICT A WINNER AS EACH WEEK SEEMS TO CHANGE AROUND.
THE AMOUNT OF EFFORT, AND COMMITMENT SHOWN BY EVERYBODY IS REALLY HEARTWARMING AND MAKES IT ONE OF THE BEST REALITY SHOWS ON TV. I HAVE TO SAY MY FAVOURITE COUPLE ARE CLARE AND ANDREI. SHE IS FEARLESS IT WOULD SEEM, WHILST IT’S HARD TO KEEP MY EYES OFF THE BEAUTIFUL ANDREI. GOOD LUCK TO ALL. X

WOW. What a great new series of dancing on ice.
The standards are so high this year. The final is still wide open, however I have to say my favourite is still clare and andrei. They work so well together, and I have to say andrei is kind on the eye!

i wish him lots of luck in the competition
but he cant win as dunc the hunk must be the winner as he is very fit with an infectious smile

The programme is worth watching just for the hunky guys and was sorry to see Lee Sharpe knocked out - he is a seriously sexy boy!

This year has been fantastic, made even better by the wonderful Mr Lipanov wow! what a hunk, what a skater, the down side is hes a taken man oh well will still go to watch the tour.
I think its gonna be the Rugger player to win though but oh it would be nice for Andrei and Claire to win.
Hope Andrei is gonna do the show next year.

Last night I was lucky enough to go to the first show on the nation wide tour of DOI. WOW, it was fantastic, out of this world, they did all my fav routines and alot more besides. Well worth every penny. The icing on the cake was when Clare and Andrei won the skate off. Justice was served!!!

I think Jason Gardiner should become an ice skater and then he won’t be booed! as nataila bestemyanova is russian i don’t understand her she is pretty though.
Nicky and Jason are very ugly i like natalia, Karen and Robin they are the best! Jason is a tosser Nicky is not far of a tosser very bad though!

I have just bought the DOI dvd and it is absolutely fab. Clare and Andrei are just stunning together. They have the perfect partnership, and how romantic they look together.
Has she found her Soul Mate and her dream man. I know he is spoken for, but nothing matters today does it. I really can’t imagine Andrei with anyone else other than Claire. They just look fab together. We will just have to wait and see, but headlines of them finding romance wouldn’t surprise me at all.

I went to see the show on 9th and it was amazing. so brilliant. Yet again, couldnt take my eyes off Andrei, and we had binoculars which meant you could see all their expressions, and they all seemed to be having so much fun. Susie Liapanova was also wonderful and their duet to “I will alwqays love you was nearly the highlight for me, apart from Daniel’s “angels”.
Maybe Andre AND his wife Susie will appear in the next series. they are both so good. Got a few autographs after the show, (not Andrei’s boo hoo!) but everyone was SO FRIENDLY. Thanks guys x x x

Went to watch DOI in Manchester yesterday - what a FANTASTIC atmoshpere, better than any concert i’ve ever been too! Andrei is defo a dish, but so is FRED! What a hunk! They better both be on the next series next year! Can’t wait that long though……

im lovind dancing on ice, i went to see the live tour at newcastle and it really was phenominal. Clare and Andrei were fantastic as were all of the others. It was an afternoon to remember!
