Meerkat Manor on Animal Planet on Sky 525 and Virgin TV 215

This TV review was written 2 years, 11 months ago.

Meerkat Manor

Meerkat Manor is Noel Gallagher’s favourite TV show. I reckon that’s because this family of adorable animals has more family squabbles than Albert Square. Compulsive fans have become utterly devoted to the meerkats as they follow the ups and downs of The Whiskers, a family of meerkats living in the Kalahari Desert. Living underground and eating a diet of worms, insects and lizards you wouldn’t expect this to make riveting TV, but the day to day family issues they confront has turned this TV series into a surprise hit!

At the end of the last season of Meerkat Manor, the Whiskers family faced a long winter, and Mozart the meerkat’s babies had been killed by an enemy gang of Meerkats called The Commandos. Now back for a third series on Animal Planet, with new characters, and stories, the Whiskers face a new gang, the Zappa tribe, who are like the neighbours from hell!

Running through to 26th September, on weekdays at 8:30pm, you need to have a strong constitution and a handy box of Kleenex because the news isn’t good for all of the members of the Whiskers family.

The meerkat families: Whiskers, featuring Flower and Zaphod, Lazuli, led by Cazanna and Big Si, Gattaca, Commandoes, led by Hannibal and Nikita, Zappa, led by Punk and Starsky. Meerkat Manor is narated by Bill Nighy in the UK, Sean Astin in the US and Mike Goldman in Australia.

Karen Lynn Gorney celebrates 30 years of Saturday Night Fever

This Film review was written 2 years, 11 months ago.

There is a web chat taking place on Thursday 27th September 2007 at 1:30pm that I think you will be interested to join if, like me, you love the film Saturday Night Fever.

Karen Lynn Gorney celebrates 30 years of Saturday Night Fever in a web chat

John Travolta continues to be one of my favourite actors, and for me it all started with his performance in Saturday Night Fever, and I have to admit, the soundtrack with that classic music by the Bee Gees find a regular place on my iPod playlists.

For the 30th anniversary celebrations the film has been rereleased digitally remastered in a special edition package, with bundles of special features including dance lessons from the original film choreography, and fascinating documentaries.

Visit the webchat here to chat with Karen Lynn Gorney

This web chat is an amazing chance for you to find out from Karen Lynn Gorney what it was like performing in Saturday Night Fever as the beautiful and ambitious Stephanie, dancing with John Travolta. Stephanie was the fantasy girlfriend who said “no” to John Travolta and won his heart.

Warner Brothers TV on Virgin Media and BT Vision

This TV review was written 2 years, 11 months ago.

There is now another very good reason to move over to the new Virgin Media and BT Vision on demand TV services because you will be able to dip into the great quality series shown on the new Warner Brothers TV (WBTV) channel.

Warner Brothers TV (WBTV) logo

You already know I’m an ER Junkie – and WBTV will be showing ER Series XIII, so we will get to see more of the lives of the emergency room staff and doctors of Chicago’s County General Hospital. There is Babylon 5, where the Earth Alliance has placed a massive space station into orbit around a planet in a neutral corner of a distant galaxy to serve as a refuge for anyone seeking sanctuary from the tyranny of the hostile federations that dominate the outermost regions of space.

Nip/Tuck is another of my firm favourites, where hotshot plastic surgeon Christian Troy enjoys all the perks of the successful and growing Miami practice that he shares with his best friend, Sean McNamara. And West Wing, where you get to go behind the scenes and experience the inner workings of the White House in this innovative drama series from Emmy Award winner John Wells always makes for riveting viewing.

When you tune in to WBTV on Virgin Media and BT Vision you will also get to revisit Season 1 of The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air starring loveable Will Smith in his early role in inner city Philadelphia when he is sent to California to live in with his wealthy relatives in the hopes that they will “straighten him out and teach him some good old-fashioned values”.

I’ve been enjoying The OC on E4, and we will get to see OC Series III on Warner Brothers TV where the lives of a group of friends and families have forever been changed by the arrival of an outsider to their affluent ocean-side community of Newport Beach in Orange County, California. When Ryan Atwood was taken in from the streets of Chino by then public defender Sandy Cohen and his wife, Kirsten, the Cohens had no idea how Ryan’s arrival would change their lives and the lives of those around them.

And last but not least you have Supernatural starring Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles when, bound by tragedy and blood to a dangerous other worldly mission, two brothers travel from the Colorado wilderness to the Nebraska farmlands and on to the isolated Wisconsin lakes, encountering creatures that most people believe only exist in folklore, superstition and nightmares.
